In late October of 2006, we had a realtor come out to our house of 25 years to help us list and sell it. At that time there were approximately 27 houses down Fruitport Rd for sale and nothing was selling. Our realtor wisely told us she would like us to have a "stager" come in to advise us how to fix our house to make it appealing for showing.

She explained to us that what is important to us might be a distraction to a potential buyer. A stager helps you set your house up so a potential buyer can envision their own belongings in the house. We decided to go with it and Chris Ellingboe was sent to our home.

She came in with a very positive attitude and within a short walkthrough had a vision for us. She knew we couldn't afford to do a lot of remodeling, but we needed to simplify and de-clutter. Chris came back with a list of suggestions. We did everything she asked. The biggest miracle was the way Chris convinced my husband to rearrange his computer equipment. He did it without much complaining. When the house was finished and ready, it looked exactly like the house we wanted it to be when we bought it 25 years ago. Our house sold in less than a month for what we were asking.

Chris was easy to work with and worked as hard as we did. She used our belongings, did a lot of rearranging and added little touches that finished each room.

I know our house would still be on the market if we hadn't had Chris come in. We were so happy with her that we are having her come into our new home and help us with all the things that will make it the place we are dreaming of.

About Me...

My husband Tom and I have been married for 15 years and we have two wonderful children Drew and Jordanne. I graduated from Central Michigan University in 1990 with a degree in English and Art. I left the teaching field permanently when I had children. We have lived in the Grand Haven area for 13 years.

I have helped friends with their decorating projects for years and in 2006 I became an accredited Home Staging Professional (ASP), personally trained by Barb Schwarz, creator of the Home Staging University. As your Home Staging Professional, I will treat you and your home with the same respect I would want to be treated with. It is my pleasure to assist you in readying your home for the market.
